9th North Arkansas Ancestor Fair
Leslie, Arkansas - June 4-6, 1998
The popular North Arkansas Ancestor fair will celebrate its ninth event June 4-6, 1998, at the Leslie Public School, Leslie, Arkansas. (Well, not quite all of it will be at the Leslie Public School - Thursday's events will be at the Marshall Restaurant in Marshall and the Friday night Mixer-Dinner will be at Ruben's Restaurant, also in Marshall).
The North Arkansas Ancestor Fair is the original Ancestor Fair and the idea of meeting to share family histories has proved so popular that it has been emulated elsewhere in Arkansas, in Oklahoma and Missouri. The area covered by the North Arkansas Ancestor Fair is a triangle in North Arkansas cornered by Washington-Benton counties in the northwest, Sharp-Independence-Lawrence in the northeast and Conway-Pope counties on the Arkansas River (and, of course, all counties in between).
We encourage all family researchers to either share their information - we provide table space free - or to see what others have brought. We also encourage small genealogical publishers and county societies to display their information/wares and help the researchers. Admission and table space is free.
Since Fairs have Side Shows, so do we; good, knowledgeable presenters/speakers who answer your questions about their areas of expertise. We charge for Side Shows, however, $5 per two-hour session.
Come see us at the Ancestor Fair! Advance booking is required for table space, meals and Side Shows otherwise just drop in.
